Pine Tree Hill is the longest and most challenging hill to hike in Fraser’s Hill. It derived its name from the old stag-headed endemic conifers of the dacrydium comosum species that dotted the trail in the past. There’s also a view of the great mountains further up the trail from this peak. The hike is a good workout and requires proper footwear (don’t wear open trek sandals as you might whack your toes against hidden jagged branches).

Despite the long hiking distance, the scenery along the way is worth the trek. It is best to start early and bring enough water to drink, since this trek will take up most of the day.

The best part of this trail is the rewarding view on top of the peak. It is a good idea to take some photos at this point and then head back down the trail. During the descent, it is best to take your time and pay attention to your surroundings. The trees are a bit overgrown and the moss and ferns can be quite slippery.
