The Commissioner for Consumer Affairs has taken legal action against Star Plus Group Pty Ltd and its related business SPG(SA) Pty Ltd in the Federal Court for breaches of the Australian Consumer Law. The Court found that the two businesses engaged in a “coordinated and sophisticated campaign” to mislead consumers, including posting fake reviews on Yellow Pages websites and Product Review and submitting fake proof of purchase documents to these websites.
